The Nikoodi Daycare Program is an on reserve Childcare program designed to provide high quality full-time care and early education for children between 3 months and 5 years old.
The Nikoodi Daycare Program is strongly rooted in the Isga philosophy that proper childcare must include the nurturing of children’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual well being. All of our staff are trained and are sensitive to the developmental needs of the children. They take pride in caring for our children. In addition, we actively invite the participation of Elders and community members in the process of child care so that our children can learn our traditional values and skills at an early age. Outlined in the following pages is central structure of the program, as well as important policies and procedures to be followed. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to discuss them with the Director of the daycare.
The staff of the Nikoodi Daycare will strive to provide top quality, reliable child care services to the children and parents of the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation. The staff will endeavor to develop and maintain positive, effective communication through respect. Finally, the Nikoodi Daycare team will provide ongoing cultural learning for children through a consistently structured and safe interactive environment.
Our childcare center provides services to the work parents of the community. We also provide service to parents attending school and or training to employment.
The Daycare is located in the core area next to the Band Administration.
